He’s saying that drilling for oil is a stupid idea. The United States does not have nearly as much oil as the Arab and Latin America countries. Con 4% of the world’s supply they won’t make a dent in the market, where the problem of high prices really exist.
Human; a friend’s dad went to the Philippines to built more capacity at tank farms BEFORE the “Arab” oil embargo. He told me about the coming embargo long before it “hit”. As Marlon Brando’s American oil magnate character states in “The Formula”- “We ARE the Arabs”.
av8tor, your link doesn’t work. Anyway, considering that it is a problem that the US gets most of its oil from the Arabs, and a good deal from Venezuela, why exactly are YOU opposed to it diversifying its supply?
Ah, my bad - this seems to clear, so I stand corrected. Still, it doesn’t address my point - what’s the big deal with the US wanting to diversify its supply?
Sure I will :), I may even call you “partisan” while I am at it.
You and av8 made a big deal out of this, and I don’t see what’s so outrageous. So the US gives a Brazilian company a loan to develop an oil field that will allow the US to import more oil from there. I don’t care much about George Soros, but he has shares in quite a few oil / energy companies - should that be allowed to dictate US energy policy? I don’t think it should matter - just as it shouldn’t matter much what Cuba is doing.
The bottom line is, I think you and av8tor are making a big deal out of this just so you have something else to blame Obama for. The whole thing is almost hilarious - he gives your side a freebie, and you guys protest how can he give so little.

Hitting himself in the head with a hammer will surely not be covered under Obamacare.

Hammer is more appropriate.
