Heard of “LG” appliances? It used to be “Goldstar” and was crap when it first hit US shores from Korea years ago!.It is still Korean crap; but, it does have a more “upscale” name now…
I had bought a GE refrigerator and it only lasted 5 years!!!! And it would have cost $800 to replace the motherboard in it!!! That was more than what I had paid for the fridge. Unfortunately, a smaller fridge from GE was also the least expensive. So far it’s fine, but I don’t expect it to last very long. A long time ago, in a rented triplex, there was a fridge in there older than me and it was still running great when we moved. Oh for the days when things lasted that long.
A few years ago there was a lighning strike near my home and it blew out the mother board on my TV. It took me 2 days to hunt down the receipt and then take the TV to the store where it was repaird for free because I brought it in on the last day of the warrenty.
