Cant tell you how many times my Dickie ate my liver for me as a kid. I KNOW my Dad knew but he never said a word, because he hated the stuff too! Poor Mom.
Oh how I love fried liver and onions with poor mans gravy. The liver lightly floured with a little bit of salt and pepper and some herbs for taste and the onions sauteed till they a clear now that some good stuff.
Not sure how we know Reds meal is liver, but what else could it be?
I hated the stuff as a youngster but enjoy it as a grown-up. Only problem is, it’s stinky to cook, so my lover & onions are restricted to the occasional restaurant lunch special.
I guess we are to ascertain Red is served a meal of liver & onions, and this is the ONLY meal Red has trouble swallowing..In any case, I am right there with Red on this one. I love the smell of it being prepared; mostly I assume, because cooking liver is overwhelmed by cooking onions. For me, it is not the smell or the taste; but, it is the texture..Just like with tongue and a few other organs, the texture of liver forces my jaws to shut tight after the first attempted chew! I am lucky if I can swallow the crap…

I thank my bad heart for giving me a good excuse for not eating organ meats, including liver.Cumadin works for the Brussels sprouts.

I hate liver. I always leave the kitchen when Mom makes liver so she can get the iron in her blood up so she can give her plasma.
