A modestly enlarged image can be found at Mr. Melcher’s blog entry (yesterday); it has been cropped. A slightly-different-coloration, click-to-enlarge image, of the full painting, can be found here.It is privately owned. It was purchased under the title Dear Polly, December 3, 1982, for $24,000, and sold with the title The Letter, for $22,500, March 1, 2012 (maybe they should have kept the first title).Since the dimensions are different, though not much, as well as the title listed in two sale notices, I first thought the artist did more than one version; but, then I saw the Saleroom Notice in the full sold (lists prior purchase, click different coloration image there for interactive enlargement) notice. This similar-to-that-coloration, somewhat enlarged image, found here, bears the first title, but dimensions closer to the sale with the second title. It lists the auction house that held both auctions as the source. I’m not sure what to trust anymore.Again, the full painting is also shown here, along with several other works by this artist. His Wikipedia page and collection.Third, of the 3 works, by this artist, that have, so far, appeared in Mr. Melcher’s blog, to also appear here (4 total).
