Actually if you know what you’re doing, this can turn out really well.

First you take a coffee mug.Spray the mug with non-stick spray stuff.Put an egg into the mug.Cover it with a paper towel (this is important, or it will look like this comic).Put it in the microwave for 50 seconds (may vary depending on your microwave).Take out and enjoy.

My roommate in college got a hold of a list of 101 ways to drive your roommate insane from the internet. He got to number 58 before I nearly choked him to death. Anywho, zapping an egg in the microwave until it explodes was on there. I would advise against it: it smells god awful and puts a dent in the microwave.

You forgot to mention that you need to prick the membrane over the yolk before zapping it so the steam can vent.

Been there, done that, but with a hard boiled egg. The microwave jumped off the counter. The egg (including the shell) was turned into this fine layer of goo all over the microwave compartment. Sounded like a hand grenade going off. My secretary, who was standing next to it, wet her pants.

There’s a video making the rounds of a kid putting a glow stick in the microwave. The stick exploded in his hands after he took it out. And of course, the glow material got in his eyes.

I bought one of those egg in a microwave things, but my wife lost a key part to it before we could ever even try it.
