Transcript:
The Beandocks Breaking news: Jeb Bush is going ahead with his 2016 presidential candidacy. Voters are reportedly repulsed by the candidate's unlikeable last name. In other news, Ted Cruz instinctively changed his last name to "Bush."
And since this comic strip is likable, I suppose it wouldn’t have significance to anyone repulsed by it. Speaking of which, I think you may have confused “repulsed by” with “obsessed by.”
“Bush vs Clinton in 2016?Does anyone know of a very remote cave I can move into between now and then?”.If you find one, please save me a spot and I promise I’ll keep the crying to a minimum…
Never seen such a racist as Lalo. He does not even know ( hope for his sake) what Cucarach means in Mexico. No wonder my grandmother called people like Lalo Mexicanadas. For his information that means “people that pretend to be Mexican but are nothing”.
Lalo has, by force of habitually repetitiveness, changed his last name to Beandocks.
Funny, the name I see above the comic in the byline is “Lalo Alcaraz.” If you’re doing the usual Eurolanguage style of left-to-right reading, at best you could say that Alcaraz has made “The Beandocks” his first name(s). If you’re reading right-to-left, it’d be “skcodnaeB ehT.” So which is it?
What’s quite telling about some of today’s comments (ahem zippy, cepa) is that today’s comic about Cruz and Bush isn’t about race. It’s about the Bush brand being quite damaged, and Cruz being generally eager to do highly unpopular things and thus being attracted to a damaged name like a moth to flame. The fact that some of y’all jumped to conclusions about race says a whole heckuva lot more about your own outlook than it does about today’s strip.
Reverse racist is a nonsense phrase. Racism is nothing else.
Even the fact that folks decided to come up with a term like “reverse racist” to try and smear people of color with is an indicator that there’s a real racism, aimed by white folks in power against people of color. As you said, in other words, “reverse racist” is very much a nonsense phrase, but one that indicts those who would use it against people of color.
Actually, Lalo’s name is still in the header; this and other strips are subtitled “Beandocks” indicating it’s a satire..And racists, of course, see racism everywhere except the beam in their own eyes.

Huh? What does Ted Cruz have to do with a “Bush” moniker?! And why Jeb Bush wants to run for president, is way beyond me…

Agreed. This country can do way better than Bush vs Clinton.

Don’t make it too remote, you’d run out of coffee. Is there a solar powered coffee bean roaster/grinder on the market?

You’ll have to borrow the goat from the hermit further up the mountainside if you want cream with that.
