Caulfield: Christmas commercial a long time ago. Halloween has gotten really commercial, too. I was kind of hoping Thanksgiving would be some kind of safe haven in the middle. Frazz: That's like sitting on the red line hoping to avoid a hockey game. Caulfield: I'd settle for avoiding the errant slap shot.

No commercial holidays in my house — traditional all the way. I don’t do Halloween, it happens to be a Christian Holiday – All Saints Day.

Actually, it’s a grab by the Christian Church of the Celtic Samhain festival. I’m a Christian, but I wish that the Roman Church had not done that sort of thing (they also did it with Christmas taking over Yule, substituting Mary for shrines dedicated to Celtic Goddesses, etc.). They should have simply given out a choice between Christian festival and pagan (to Christians) festivals and let the people make the choice, which of course is one of the primary tenets of the Gospel. Oh, well…
