Thanksgiving has nothing to do with it – Canada’s is long past. Wait until St. Andrew’s Day, then it is an Advent wreath. The tree is for the twelve days of Christmas – Christmas to Epiphany.
The strip reminded me of something I saw today, but didn’t think it through to its weird conclusion: some couple buying a Christmas tree on Thanksgiving. The artificial tree already had red ornaments on it as they carried it to their vehicle.

Must be a new after dinner past time; usually it is a race to the TV for football.

can’t blame the kid when stores are advertizing xmas ads before Holloween.
