In fact, one of my very favorite things, really, is a huge kinetic sculpture of San Francisco made out of over 100,000 toothpicks.

It was displayed at our county fair, and returned for another run two years later.I was fascinated, so I’ve talked at length with its creator, Scott Weaver…

He’s not an artist by profession, but a local supermarket produce manager, and he’s been working on this for over 35 years!

Here’s Scott with “Rolling Through San Francisco” ,,, so called cos he drops ping pong balls into a couple of different chutes, and they roll through the streets…. past replicas of famous landmarks and personal ones, like his grandmother’s house, made of toothpicks from all over the world.

OK, I found a video where he explains a lot of it…

BTW,,, while there are many kinds of toothpicks in his sculpture, he only uses one kind of glue… brand name Elmer’s Glue.

2Old… aaahhh…. so long ago…when we were young and innocent…So long ago I don;t even…. quite… um…. remember it….

Angry woman harasses my son today during one of his surveys. I noticed on the same channel she also harassed a city bus driver. Difficult to concentrate on work with someone shouting.

It’s funny, but I found a toothpick on my floor this morning and I wondered how it got there.Now I know. Gordon, watch those tooth picks, will you?

I think Gordon is very talented. I’ll bet he could make a fortress out of the tooth pick boxes!
