I’d suggest Clovia take a trip to some remote place for a while, but then I’d dread to think what their home would look like when she returned. .Unless she could take everything of value with her.
And we all thought Slim was the most annoying character. I had finally blocked Chubby from my memory, and here he comes. Nice *%#@! Christmas gift, Jim.
It goes so very long between characters—-there are so many in GA!—-that I once spent some time reading past years here on line just to learn more. “Mother” is indeed Slim’s mother. She has a terrible reputation for being rather a thief and a pill. Honesty is not her best policy. Chubby’s chief fault is telling jokes that hardly funny at all and laughing uproariously at his own telling: an extrovert out of control. We are in for an adventure! Poor Clovia. But Miss Manners advises her to say, “No.” But Clovia won’t—-will she?

Send THEM to the store to deal with Frank Nelson on Clovia’s dad’s behalf! (Or at the least, slam the door & send them SOMEWHERE ELSE!)

Okay, who ARE these people? There are a lot of years I didn’t read this strip.

Why, Jim? Why inflict the most annoying characters in the strip on us again?
