Chespirito was a singularly talented, funny man. He’ll be missed. It’s fitting that Cuco is dressed as El Chapulín, and Eddie wears El Chavo’s hat pretty well. But no one will fill those costumes the way Chespirito did.
It’d be nice… but, 42% of Californians speak a language other than English at home (and so are multilingual). In Europe, 43% can hold a conversation in only one language.
I am heartbroken..I grew up watching Chespirito. Watched his antics as “El Chavo del Ocho” and “El Chapulin Colorado” (what the heck is a “Chapulin”?), it was one of the few programs I enjoyed on Spanish language television. .Thank you Lalo.
but didn’t what’s his name die a few days ago?As for the English language due to the soft power that England and the USA exert/exerted it is for the time being the “de facto” language. I am grateful that it has a “Latin” script and not some hieroglyphic script.
That would be wonderful. I used to be fluent in spanish, but no one I know wants to speak Spanish with me. French is probably Only learned from the cradle up.
Also, about the old joke, ironically many citizens are Proud they can only speak one language and besides that, they Expect everyone else to speak only english too. I think they are called xenophobes.

After going to Wikipedia, he was the original actor of “El Chapulín Colorado” from the Mexican TV show of the same name.
