I love the historical reference, but I don’t get the joke….Candy=Kennedy? Do you crack taffy like that, and why? Choking?

Candy Khrushchev Saga is a pun on Candy Crush Saga….an incredibly popular game for smartphones….

I’ve never downloaded it, or played it…or any game, on my phone….but I know the tall fellow is Mr. Toffee…and I believe you eat your way through levels of candy….

Hope that helps…probably somebody who actually knows the game can do better.

Nice twist to use the name in a game. Nikita was always a hound with his shoe too.

Bruno Zeigerts: It was his fist – which was as big as a shoe. The corporate media keeps saying shoe to the point that the brainwashed actually see a shoe because enough impersonators have used a shoe in a “recreation” of the event. He tried to get the other delegations to join in, but only second world (Communist bloc) ones did, but that was enough to set him grinning. I saw the whole thing on live TV at the time. Repeat a lie often enough…

Um…. I saw it on television too, as an adolescent… and I don’t think at the time I only imagined the shoe…Why argue, though, about what can be looked up… especially in this day of internet-enabled instant gratification??I’m pretty convinced there must be video, but I haven’t found one of that exact moment.

I did find one that uses the iconic newspaper photo, and explains what happened, quoting an interview with Khrushchev’s granddaughter…which I read…. and I saw another where his son, now an American university professor, also admits that his father banged his shoe, and later somewhat regretted it.
