The goal indeed… As the bride begins to walk down the aisle and sees the altar at the front of the church, she hears the vocalist singing a hymn. It’s these three words that cause the problem. She’s thinking “aisle, altar, hymn… aisle, altar, hymn…”. They sound too much like “I’ll alter him” and so it begins! (kudos to multiple websites that had this old joke…)
