The ironic thing about starlings is there was at least one prior attempt to introduce them and they all died.

European or English house sparrow brought here from England are even worse. They compete with our native songbirds for food and nesting areas, particularly the bluebird, also wren, tree swallow and chickadee. The male sparrow will kill both hatchlings and adult bluebirds, building a nest on top of their carcass in the house. Nasty little birds, they are.

The comments about cashews are giving me second thoughts about some new beverage called, “cashewmilk,” sold alongside almond milk. I’m thinking of watching to see if it gets pulled off shelves due to too many people getting sickened by it.

I hear cashews are related to poison ivy. No problem when the husks are removed.I’ve also heard horses can eat poison ivy with no ill effects. It appears that our reaction to something in poison ivy could be the problem. When I was younger, I could pull up ivy with no problems. Not everyone is affected by it.
