I was a third year medical student in1972 when I helped a woman deliver her baby. It was perhaps my third time as a delivering “doctor”. The baby was out, crying nicely, but seemed to slender. As I examined the infant it became clear that the new person had ambiguous genitalia. Neither clearly boy or girl. And Mom said to me, “Is it a boy or a girl?” My answer was “I am not sure.” One of the toughest days of my life, not to mention the mother’s. It still makes me sad that these things happen to people….Just an FYI

Technically, a basketball wouldn’t look at all like that in an ultrasound….. which is beside the point in a cartoon….??? I’ll go away now…..
