Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson for February 24, 2015
Transcript:
Calvin: "I wonder why people are never content with what they have" Hobbes: "Are you kidding? Your fingernails are a joke, you've got no fangs, you can't see at night, your pink hides are ridiculous, your reflexes are nil, and you don't even have tails! Of course people aren't content!" Calvin: "Forget I said anything" Calvin: "Now if TIGERS weren't content, that would be something to wonder about"

You’re wired to want it all as a safeguard against what tomorrow may bring.

And to top it off, tigers are the endangered species, not the pink ones. Of course, few tigers have highpowered rifles with scopes…

When I think of contentment, I dream of a warm, soft, curvy, person to snuggle with at night. Of course a Porsche in place of my Honda, would help during the daytime.

Actually, we don’t adapt to anything! We twist our environment to suit us (instead of the creatures that used to live here) — it’s our deadliest trait!

If tigers weren’t content we would not only have something to wonder about, we’d have something to worry about. It would mean they had developed self-awareness and the capacity to think. Big trouble.
Mainer12 about 10 years ago
But tigers can’t read Calvin and Hobbes.
