Dad always got a laugh after he took out the passenger seat in a Ford Escort Hatchback and would open the rear hatch and take out a 16’ extension ladder.
A 16’ extension ladder is about 9’ long when collapsed..Now imagine a family of 6 getting out of an original VW Beetle. At a restaurant. In the dark.In the rain. With umbrellas, one each.On a busy Friday evening..We got some curious looks. 8^)

For reasons that escape me, this strip and the comments made me think of this video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTnHIUNBjJc
Maybe it was this was supposed to be a small thing, but was big – the opposite of Peter’s car.
