We had a “day” of snow.that was it. Now it’s up in the 50s all week and raining.. Probably won’t get any winter this year, broke all records for the warmest year.
And now, after my last comment here last night being about how I love my job, I do also LOVE SNOW DAYS from work! It’s fun to goof off for a day or get caught up on something that needs done. We had about 3 or 4 last year, and one 2 hour delay so far this year but that was for ice. Otherwise, can do without snow, thank you very much! :-D
I don’t remember ever taking days off because of snow. We just do what we can when the skies are acting up. These days I often have the choice to just stay home if I don’t like it out there.
Now that I am retired, every day is pretty much the same, with few worries..When I was in school, there never was a “snow day”; however, school did close one day in the 12 years of school and 4 years of college when power lines were forced down because of an ice storm! Oh, and we did go home early on Nov 22, 1963; but it wasn’t because of snow….My business only closed early a couple of times because of inclement weather. If it snowed too hard for normal vehicular traffic, I and a few other employees did ride snowmobiles to work a couple of times as we were in the power equipment business and we knew there would be a demand for certain products…
She never takes me seriously, even when I ask a simple question, like whether that was a pillow fight in the picture.
Or x_Tech … she treats us both like wayward children.
(Just between you and me… she thinks she can get away with calling me “Little Missy” just because I am so much younger than she is…..decades, in fact……. shhh…. don’t tell her I told you.
She’s posting scary, invisible pictures…(Well, I think they’re invisible pictures…. I can’t see anything in her last post….)and she’s obviously the only person who understood Peter’s threat to Elliot the other day…So now she’s using it on ME.Poor, innocent me. If I only knew what it meant… I could be scareder.
Run, X! Or walk faster….or something.
Unless a colt’s offense is slow…whatever that is…..
Sigh…you know, sometimes I feel like I don’t have a clue….and I don’t even know what I’m supposed to have a clue about.
I saw your name… on an empty post. But from what X said, I thought there must be something there……. so after I posted to you, I copied the source code, which showed it was supposed to contain an image at http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/boese/a050.gifThen I even ( very bravely ) went to look for it that way, but apparently the site was down….

I got a snow day back in 1962! Odd day! I was 12!

We are expected to toughen up and treat snow days as simply regular days with some white stuff on the ground.
Now blizzard days and ice storm days…those are different!

I love snow days. The cold gray days after, not so much. I spend every winter wishing I was a hibernating bear.

Rare snow days here. Occasional closed school/work days for hurricanes. It’s a trade off.
