Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
I have to agree with you, Joe. It would have looked better with your suggestion.
But we could always add a âroom additionâ on it and make it bigger, too!
Weâd probably need another weekâs worth of strips for that, given Dad Meggsâ skills in this field!
Hi Jason, Joe, Barb, Dry, Bjorn, Lonewolf and all Meggsie fans
Well, thereâs something to teach us knockers a lesson. Weâve rubbished Dadâs skills for days but the doghouse has survived a solid âWHUMPâ by Ginger.
All that is needed now are some planks across the middle and a short staircase to have the worldâs first Macmuttmansion.
â?â â!â â*â â+â â%â . There, howâs that for thinking literally. Oops, my mistake, Gingerâs thinking laterally. I like the light bulb as a graphic display of getting a bright idea.
My mom lived with a widow lady who rented rooms to nursing students back in the late 30âs. They became quite close, so after all those years, even after me and my cousins came along, we would go and stay the weekend a couple times a year. She had one of those ice box refrigerators she still used. She had a newer one too.
Joe do you remember when milk was home delivered? Oh of course you would, since youâre older than me. And the Jewel Tea Man?
Gâday Dry
Milk, bread and newspapers were home delivered. Butcher even called on a liitle cart that resembled something like the chariot Charleston Heston drove in Quo Vadis (was it - am I right?) The iceman brought blocks for our ice cabinet in a cart that all of usfellers followed to get chips off the blocks as he cut them. Every Sunday a man selling ice-cream came along the street in a cart pulled by a Shetland pony.
None of that exists anymore for kids. What has taken their place? A vacuum?
usfellers I think you are referring to âBen Hurâ.
We had ice cream trucks and snow cone trucks that came around in the summer when I was little, but somewhere along the line, that all went away, sadly.
What has taken the place of the good things is now MODERN TECHNOLOGY! Most kids today have no clue what dodgeball, pick up games, or anything like that is about today. Sadly! My boys did, we made sure of it.
And Joe for some reason I have heard of Meadow Gold, of course Iâm sure there are other Meadow Golds. Leaving the door open today for the egg or milk man to come in your house and leave a delivery isnât wise in this day and age. But I guess it doesnât matter, because that is UNHEARD OF today!
