Adam: Okay. I have two more days to do my taxes. I need to focus. I should probably get some coffee. No...I should make some coffee. The weather's too nice. If I go out, I won't be able to talk myself into coming back inside. Okay. I've got my coffee, and I've got all my forms. I'm ready to go. Nothing is going to distract me. If you filled a pillow with ground coffee, I wonder if it would keep you awake at night.

I did my taxes. I brought them to a blue box. I put them in, Shut the flap. Is that all there is?

I do my own taxes because I can’t afford a CPA, and anyone else (H&R Block and the like) generally employs people with much less of an accounting background than I have. My elder brother took his taxes to a “nameless” tax preparation company a couple years back and paid $400 to get them done. When he showed me his return, I found 3 different common deductions that the tax prep company had missed. They added up to about a $400 difference in his refund. So he basically paid about $800 to get his taxes done incorrectly.
