Caulfield: How can it be that no two snowflakes are alike...But every Yahoo in a pickup truck drives exactly the same?
Frazz: That sounds like one of your questions for Mr. Olsen.
Caulfield: Mrs. Olsen was the one saying that about the pickup trucks.

Not every pickup truck driver is a yahoo, even in Michigan.

I’m sure that the yahoos in cadillacs drive much differently.

Good effort, mugens, but still not quite there. He didn’t say that every yahoo is driving a pickup; he said that every yahoo who IS in a pickup drives exactly the same as every other yahoo who is in a pickup. I wish I could diagram that, but (1) I don’t know how and (2) I haven’t had my second cup of coffee yet.

Snowflakes are not the same as yahoos, therefore, your question is invalid.

Just the jacked up ones with big tires and off road stuff.

I drive a stretch of freeway in the California central valley every weekday. I’ve called it “white truck syndrome” for years and it is mostly farm foremen. Not true in every instance but enough to make a correlation.

I could say the same about Prius drivers.
jamesbachreeves almost 10 years ago
Right, but how do I represent on the same diagram the idea that everyone in the overlap drives in the same way?
hippogriff almost 10 years ago
fatchance: For years, I said I had never seen a courteous Cadillac driver, but no more. In the years since, I have seen two. .Demmiaa: That’s because Prius owners are trying to get the best mileage they can, rather than driving as fast as they can, weaving in traffic, and abruptly slowing speed when they see police.

Yay for Mrs. Olson giving Caulfield something to ponder.

Very small pick up trucks always go very very slow. I hate being behind them…In snow belts, like on I 94 in MI, when the weather is extreme, semi trucks should be held to 30 mph or banned all together. If white out conditions are probable, they should definitely be banned….all together. Semi trucks pass me on glare ice in white out conditions ,at 80 MPH constantly…IMHO…Way to many people are dying senselessly…The “Best” accident we have had so far this year is a two hundred car pile up, started by a semi driver that barreled into the back of a mini van, in the right hand lane, that had slowed down because of road conditions…Exactly what you are supposed to do…It caused 72 other semi trucks to crash into anything and everything, on the road and off the road. One semi had spilled toxic chemicals, that meant anybody within a 3 mile area had to be evacuated in a blizzard conditions in 5 degree weather….Another one had 4,400 pounds of fireworks. They got some good video of that…It’s worth Googling….

Ginny: I got through 2014 without any tickets, but got three official warnings in 2013 against pulling over to let Jehu by over the speed limit. I still “Drive friendly” even though the highway motto has been changed to “Don’t mess with me” or is that Texas? Yes, in an ’08 Prius.
