Caffeine is not bad for people in small doses. (like anything it can be overdone!) Now as for birds and dogs, I dunno, but how can something as central as caffeine be bad for dogs? Chocolate, sure, I can understand why that would be bad for dogs, but caffeine? NEVER! NEVER, I say! :)
