This strip disturbs me, because the first thing that happens to the Baudelaires is that their house burns down, killing their parents. Does Paige resent Roger and Andy that much?That said, the Baudelaires do get along much better than the Foxes, possibly out of shared crises.
It’s the cartoon logic bit where a character has had the same traits from day one. When the parents were looking at old photos they revealed that Paige has ALWAYS complained about Jason, Peter ALWAYS wore his hat and had an appetite to rival Garfield’s, and Jason has ALWAYS been both a genius, and a bit of a brat.
