Wish I were the ‘Plugger’ in panel # 5, that way I would be having a fireplace for a nice warm fire. Both the houses, I lived in growing up had fireplaces. I used to complain when my Dad asked me to bring in wood for them but now I would be ‘tickled to death’ to have a nice roaring fire to make the living room ‘cheerful and warm’ ! ! ! ! !

I’ve been known to do one or two of those things myself. Yes, yard work is fulfilling.

Profitable work. As a gymrat I still say that this is the best kind of workout.

The wood for my furnace warms me three times — first when taking down the tree and cutting into lengths — second when splitting the lengths (YOU try to get a two foot diameter log into the furnace!!) and third when it burns in the furnace to warm the house (and me.) I’m 72.
