Bruno Zeigerts – reminds me of my father-in-law, a good ol’ Texas boy with a huge backyard barbeque, who used to say that he refused to eat “rabbit food”. He died rather messily from stomach cancer before he was 50.
Quinoa and chia are not a fad. Both are highly nutritious foods and taste good if you know how to use them. This comic strip is so far behind the food trends.
How to make chia palatable: Buy your favorite plain yogurt.Dump in a cup of chia seeds and your favorite fruit.Wait at least 24 hours. The yogurt will be a delicious, thick, sweet fruity tapioca pudding and you can tell any dietary killjoys about all the fabulous Omega 3 you are getting from it. That should shut them up.
Of course, if you hate tapioca, skip it. I do not recommend using ground chia seeds. Think – sawdust. GACK!
My dad is a foodie and he was wolfing down pounds of quinoa, then recently started on chia just like Pab says. It’s not about nutrition, and there is no such thing as a “superfood”. It is just easily influenced and marketed-to consumers looking for an answer other than… reasonable diet and exercise.
