Not like you two have a whole lot to talk about.

I go to more funerals than weddings. The food and drink are better and you don’t wake up with the bridesmaid,

Too true, and too sad. Scattered families these days. Mine and steps are all far away.

The joys of growing old. So many lovely funerals, to bring back memories of so many lovely funerals.

You two better not have the funeral director say at the next wake, “see you soon!”

As I’ve said at the last few funerals I went to, “You know you’re getting old when funerals become your social events.” I’ve also made friends with the mortician, so what does THAT say about me? (He handled both of my parents’, and several friends’.)

The older you get, the fewer people you have to talk to who remember when you weren’t old.
