After a week in which a mentally disturbed pilot murdered 149 people by deliberately flying into a mountain this is truly one of the most disgustingly sick failed attempts at humor I have ever seen. And don’t tell me this was created long before the crash. If Wulf, Morgenthaler and GoComics had any sense of decency they could have pulled this one from publication or issued an apology for this piece of excrement!
Datook. It is most often the case that comics (excluding many op/ed comics) are submitted anywhere from one to three weeks in advance of publication, often in one-week batches for a daily strip.
GoComics, as I recall, receives the comics, processes them, and puts them in an electronic queue that automatically releases the comic on its specific release date.
It is highly likely that Mr. Morgenthaler drew and submitted this particular comic and that it was queued by GoComics prior to the crash.
actually, it looks like the car is driving up the middle on both sides of the line. and a joke to do with poor driving is not affected by the horrible plane accident that just happened . horrible things are happening every second. and wonderful things. sadly, mostly it is the horrible in the news. this is the second day in a row, encountering unnecessary vitriol in go comics. could we all please get along?
Coming just days after an airline copilot deliberately crashed a plane filled with innocent travelers into a mountain side, I find it difficult to comprehend how this cartoon wasn’t pulled from publication. This cartoon is in very poor taste, given the events of the past week.
ok. i just looked at the image again and actually caught what i’d missed the first time. how the man had drawn the line off the cliff. dark, very dark. but sometimes you have to laugh to keep from crying all the time. there is humor in even the worst of times, or how could we go on? perspective
If the car travels the line, he will be knocked off with it. Besides, lines are painted by a mobile spray machine, not a man with a brush – generally even in parking lots.

Driving the wrong side of the road though, and doubt it is a one way road.

Despite being really disturbing,…shouldn’t that be a dashed line, not a solid?

It’s only the ‘wrong’ side of the road in some countries.

Should and could have been pulled. Very offensive.
