China recently issued an order that banned wordplay and puns on radio and television. In the US, movie theater popcorn cost more per ounce than filet mignon! Smile! Alyssa Bella Bailey of Branson, MO., Was born on December 28, 2014, with two fully formed front teeth!

Popcorn is why tickets to movies should be included in the price.

So what is considered Chinese humor anyway if they’re not allowing wordplay and puns?

Imagine what they would charge for Filet Mignon!

So Pastis’s strips would not be allowed in China……….

I am guessing that Alyssa might have to be bottle fed.

sigh Not a very interesting strip today. Newborns with teeth, though rare, are not unheard of….China has a repressive atmosphere and seems to discourage individualism at all times (IMHO) and who didn’t know that popcorn in theaters are way over priced?

Yeah, Flag. It must have been Hell in the breast feeding.

I wonder what theaters would charge if they offered filet mignon.

I guess it’s all relative with the popcorn v. filet mignon comparison. People complain endlessly when gas is $3 per gallon in the USA but think nothing of paying $2.50 for a 16 oz. latte, which works out to $20 per gallon. Go figure.

No more Confucianisms, like “One who fly upside down, bound to have crack-up”

Movie popcorn was always the best and a whole bucket with extra butter was near pig-out heaven. Trucking around town I often stopped in a matinee just for the fresh popped corn, never had to buy a ticket as the popcorn was close to the ticket stubber.

Movie theaters have just too many Ushers, all youngsters that are not paid that much and are generally rude. We had one, maybe two with flashlights that were very polite and were very attendant!

I was born with two teeth, and since they were positioned so that they would “clash” with each other, they were pulled. And I’ll bet that at least one of the reasons that wordplay and puns are banned is that the powers that be in China were worried that subtle or local slang digs against the government would slip by the censors. :-)

You think popcorn’s expensive? Assuming a cartridge of printer in: sells for $16.99, the 19 milliliters of ink it contains amounts to nearly $65,000.00 a gallon.
