I predict Mimi will have to be a hardass to Cassie before her teammates will let up on her.

Then again, this is Milford, so there have to be a couple of girls who take it too far. Far enough to jeopardize their futures just to get back at Cassie for their failure.

She’ll get the winning hit that sends them the state championship and everything will be fine. And she and Derek Chance will live happily ever after

there is this thing, taking responsibility for your actions, Cassie may or may not learn this lesson, but not because she doesnt have excellent tutors…

Speaking of tutors, did Steve enroll in the Milford Community COllege yet?

Crazy. No high-school coach would take back a player who had pulled a no-show in a playoff game, much less make her a starter.

P2: There is something dreadfully wrong with the length of Cassie’s neck and the shape of her head.

P1 Mimi removes her arm from around Cassie as they approach the field. P3 Mimi eyes Cassie’s hardass. Something fishy going on here.

Mimi appears to be suffering from finger tendonitis in P3 - actually seems to be a common affliction in Milford (see P2 April 23 and P2 April 24):

    Symptoms of Finger Tendonitis:

An inability to bend one or more joints of the finger Pain when you bend your finger Mild swelling over the joint closest to your fingertip

Will Cassie’s storyline be a story of redemption? If so, I think its more likely she’ll redeem herself as the back-up pitcher than by getting the hit that sends them to the state championship. Otherwise, why have Mimi mention in today’s strip that Cassie is a back-up pitcher again this year?

Also, what is with the hands in today’s strip???

In p1, Mimi’s left hand seems to have disappeared from the end of her left arm, leaving merely a stump pressing against Cassie’s back.

In p2, I have no idea what Cassie is supposed to be doing with her left hand, but that is an odd gesture to make while talking with Mimi.

In p3, Mimi’s left hand returns, with a vengeance. It appears to be disembodied, capable of independent thought, and ready to fly off after Cassie to give her the proper spanking she so richly deserves. Do you think Mimi is aware that her left hand is thinking “maybe” in response to Mimi’s statement that the team will ease up on Cassie eventually. And, will we ever get to see what Mimi’s disembodied left hand thinks when she is canoodling with Gil? Alas, Mimi will probably undergo emergency surgery and her disembodied left hand will be reattached to her left arm by the next time she makes an appearance in the strip.

I wonder if Milford is located near a toxic waste dump where the chemical leakage is affecting the population. We’ve seen symtoms of Marfan Syndrome, premature finger tendonitis, deformed neck, premature aging (Steve), lack of clear thinking (just about everyone), overly aggressive behavior, delusions by parents that they at one time had kids (Mimi and Gil), a woman with eyes on the top of her head (why else would Mimi have those sun glasses up there?). It also looks like Mimi’s hand has a little brain of its own as it’s questioning Mimi’s larger brain on generating the comment on the other girls easing up.

By the way, let’s count how many eyes Mimi has. She has the normal ones, the ones on the top of her head, and it looks like she has some mini ones under her regular ones there in P2. I could be wrong on that. Those minis could be deformed tear ducts caused by the toxic chemical waste.
