My doggie did exactly that, too. Then, after chasing him around for awhile, he’d let me grab the ball, but only if it was already in his mouth. Then we’d play tug-of-war. Eventually, I’d be able to pry the ball loose from him, only to throw it away again, possibly prompting him to think: “After all that work, he just throws it away! Poor, dumb human!”
