It’s quite possible they’ve got a good reason to do it. Like maybe an oncoming train or a giant rampaging lizard headed their way.

When I was growing up in North Jersey, it was specifically the “George Washington Bridge”.

Not enough. You forgot to add the details, like calling “White Wilderness” by name, insistently noting that it was made in 1958, and detailing the process that led them to use a turntable to bring an urban legend to life.
Even if it were true, the trope is a bit overused. Not your best work, Keef. But I have to admit the next day’s cartoon kinda redeems it.
