My Dad had extremely high cholesterol levels…but lived to be 90 in almost perfect health; at 89, he was still mowing his own lawn….so…to quote Alfred E. Neuman….What…me worry?
A little outdated; the strip was probably done before the recent of findings that cholesterol intake does not correlate with serum cholesterol. The 2015 DGAC report states in part .“…available evidence shows no appreciable relationship between consumption of dietary cholesterol and serum (blood) cholesterol … Cholesterol is not a nutrient of concern …”.The bigger problem is a diet high in saturated fats.
One more time: eat 100% meat and veggies and your cholesterol numbers will go DOWN, not up! Yes, been there, done that. Years of blood work to back it up. It’s carbs that are the killer. Hold the bun, eat the burger. Have more steak, skip the potato. I’ll never forget the med student internor two months, and then drew it after those 8 weeks, sure that my numbers would have skyrocketed. His first words on reading the report: “You have just destroyed all they taught me in med school….”
