There are two horseshoe bends of Nebraska near Rulo Nebraska and Hamburg Iowa where the river went wondering during a great flood and was lying in a different bed when it was done. Nebraska state has claims on territory on the Missouri side of the river.

Fun fact, Missouri borders more states than any other state: Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.
