Physics? What physics? The guy is standing in a vacuum! And on top of that the cable is dangling “down” from the platform while the station is in free-fall (what some people call weightless)! The physics in this comic strip are way out of shape!
It’s called cartoon physics. As when the coyote stand in mid air until he realizes he has run off of the cliff then looks past the forth wall, blinks his eyes a few time then falls.
Or as Roger Rabbit puts it, “Only when it’s funny.”
