G’day (here it could be Good Satd’y arvo) Jason, Lonewolf, Dry, Joe, Barb, Bjorn and all Meggsie’s mates.

Re graffiti. I wish I could hear it knocking. The only knocking I hear means I have to find the opportunity to pull the car’s engine down.

Joe and ottod (refer yesterday’s comments). Steak and Kidney pudding may sound offal’ LOL but believe me, it is to die for. It consists of a pudding of a dough similar to Yorkshire Pudding with diced steak and kidney mixed in it. It takes a cordon bleu chef to do it properly and needs hours and hours of cooking - but oh man, what a dish.

If anyone makes it for you then you can consider they like you very much.

If I get to Paris I will take a preserved one with me just in case anyone says ‘escargot’ in my presence.

Must take one on a long train ride too. Made an interstate trip by train a little while ago and ordered meatloaf for lunch. It came in a sealed aluminium container with two stickers on the top. One gave a date of manufacture as exactly one year earlier and another showed a use by date of a year in the future - true. It’s times like that one needs a good pudding as a standby.

Maybe Hookey will change his mind if anyone can tell him what is the french equivalent of a steak and kidney pudding.

Not a steakand kidney pie Joe, they are available in the frozen section at the supermarket. A successful steak and kidney PUDDING is a work of culinary art.

Let’s hope that Fitzzy’s grandfather’s feet don’t smell and his nose doesn’t run; poor fellow would be built upside down.

Spaghetti marinara is just ready. All welcome if you can be here in 1 minute to beat me to it. See ya’ later.

We must bear in mind that Ginger’s father said no friends on this trip after Ginge and Bennie trashed a hotel room in the US during a pillow fight.. That may have been around 12 months ago but Ginger never gets older so maybe no wiser.

Invisible: Paris has nothing on London or Scotland. I thought I was going to freeze my balls off when I visited them when I was a teen.

I don’t know mate - I was there a couple weeks ago and it was a lot nicer place to be than the hyper-depressed and pre-election London right now.

Joe I love a cold meatloaf sandwich, with tomato, onion and mayonnaise!

Love meatloaf sandwiches too. Just didn’t want to mention it in case it caused the caterer on our railway system to disguise their old stock in sandwiches. Give me the homemade variety.

Hi Joe Now, there’s a thing, I’ve never had potato salad with the potato mashed. It’s always been with diced potato with diced fresh celery too, sometimes with diced fresh apple, sometimes with raisins.

About too long ago to admit when, I tried frog’s legs. What an absolute waste of a threatened species. My foray into escargots at about Ginger’s age made me swear off them forever too, although I dare say cooking them on a kid’s ‘camp fire’ in a mate’s backyard was not the way they are done in France. We learnt later that the common garden snail was not an escargot. Never forgot that little learning experience either!

Maybe Ginger’s mum will bring back some recipes for lamb chops a la mĂ©thode française or a new way of preparing la pomme de terre.

But the French cheese is wonderful! And nobody makes better bread. A fresh, crisp baguette, a wedge of cheese, maybe a beer
Excuse me. I seem to be drooling.

By the way, usfellers, I last had escargot (not in France) about a month ago. It was teriffic. Of course, I’m pretty much up for anything with lots of garlic and butter.

I love escarot in garlic and butter! Also, I have never had potato salad made with mashed potatoes, but have seen recipes for it. I love potato salad, warm with bacon dressing, chilled with mayo, and chilled with vinerarette. Adn then of course, various additions depending on how you are making it. The vinegarette potato salad is very good with green beans added.

ottod Unfortunately, my aversion to escargot is physcosymatic. As for garlic, the no-no of the century.

Dry Yes, completely forgot the bacon on the potato salad. I sort it out to have separately - yum.. Sorry about the garlic, the slightest whiff makes me violently ill. Looks like trips to France and Italy may be taboo.
