I hate to be the spoiler here, but plutonium only emits Alpha radiation which can be blocked by a piece of paper (or your skin). It is warm to the touch (because it IS warm). Alpha radiation will kill you if swallowed, with a long and painful death (remember the spy that had been dosed in Europe?). So, everything is cool as long as the dog doesn’t eat it.
