Bottoms up! In India, the urine of sacred cows is used as a cleaning solution, a cure for baldness and even a soft drink! Pest-free and loving it! City birds line their nests with cigarette butts- the burnt nicotine acts as an insecticide! Edward Kisslak of Waynesboro, PA, has donated 31 1/4 gallons of blood over the last 53 years. That's enough to save the lives of 750 people!

And how do them city birds make sure they don’t choke to death when inhaling some leftover smoldering tobacco?

My neighbor removed his shake roof because he was afraid that a raven might deposit a lit cigarette butt on it.

Wasn’t there an article while back where a house caught fire from a bird nest in the gutter that caught fire from a smoldering cig. butt?

A little context … you can currently donate a pint of blood every 8 weeks, for roughly a maximum of 6 donations each year. (Not sure how that figure may have changed over the years.) It takes 8 pints to make a gallon. So if he made the maximum donations possible each year and never missed a year, it would take him (at a minimum) nearly 42 years. As it is, he is averaging nearly 5 donations a year — truly inspiring.

I have seen bird dig though the ash trays out side of stores collecting butts. One cashier even commented to me once that they did not have to empty the ash trays because the birds did it for them.

How do they figure 750 lives with 250 pints of blood. I am closing in on twice that much with 58 gallons and it may well be twice as I have some donations that didn’t transfer between blood centers.
