For those of you who can’t guess what the above link might go to, it is a classic old clip from the Simpsons where the minister is tricked into playing a “new hymn” called “In The Garden of Eden by I. Ron Butterfly” Not exaclty a Maiden song, but close enough. :)
Lew, fred: Mine are all on Wall Street which might explain a lot of things. (guys, comparing Butterfly to Maiden just shows you are not metalheads. IB was long before IM and way better at selling to the mainstream. The irony is that they have iron in both their names.)
Someone who believes in God might in all good conscience want God to curse some of the things America has done. America has done more than a few terrible things.
Wanting God to Curse America herself is for most people over the top.
Rev. Wright may have exceeded more than good taste in asking God to curse America. His reasons for chastising America, however were sound.
Frustrated people often say controversial and shocking things. Defining who Rev. Wright is by one shocking comment is not honest. It’s too bad that Obama had to distance himself from Wright, but politics demanded it.
free, but of course Iron Maiden was the nickname of an old torture device which far predates Iron Butterfly which presumably was only used to torture our parents.
