I’ve got that old song, “After The Ball Is Over”, in my old 78s rpm collection, but another senior moment and I can’t for the life of me remember who the singer is on that one. I CAN remember I have John McCormack on another (one sided – other side is blank) 78 singing “A Long Long Trail Awinding”, if that helps.
I remember that my Grandma had the sheet music to “After the Ball is Over”, also “When You and I Were Young, Maggie”. I never heard them sung, though. she played them on the organ.

No explanations needed here. Does the iPod / iPad / I-live-in-my-own-ears generation have any such empathy?

Sounds like Grandpa and Grandma have made a happy marriage.
