    well, when this strip was drawn out in 1927, Charles Lindbergh was a national hero, having done the solo flight across the Atlantic

but like david42, I’m puzzled as tothe connection between the Army Navy game and him 
ormore to the point, ‘his stuff’maybe it’s something to do with going OVER (as in fly) the fence to see the game???

    “We” is how Lindy referred to his partnership between he and his plane. From the book of the same name. Because pop culture references aren’t just for millennials. :)
