Good parenting! Some less playful would say āIāll teach You to look grumpy! Smile or else Iāll give you something to look grumpy aboutā. Hope nobody here had a parent like that, but suspect itās all too common.

However, we could always talk our daddy out of a spanking. The 4 of us had him wrapped around our little fingers. My mom was the hammer! Though we were never abused. We grew up right, honest, hard working and loyal. We didnāt give our parents any crap, and they didnāt take any from us. Itās like people are afraid of their kids these days. Want to be their buddies or something.
