richard's poor almanac by richard thompson d.c. state fair highlights half-smokes hungry fair visitors line up for a taste of authentic d.c. cuisine, which, as far as anyone can determine, consists solely of half-smokes. livestock barn the liveestock barn has a somewhat disappointing year after the only live-stock, a panda cub, is eaten by a coyote. tower of cash traffic trauma bumper to bumper car house of too man cats the midway. middle right, the tower of cash, where a lucky fair-goer gets a chance to grab some of that 300 million dollar surplus. left, traffic trauma, an extremely congested bumper car ride where a single ride often last 2 hours. far right, the house of too many cats, about which the less said the better.
