Low hanging fruit. Is there anything better? Even better than these mock drafts is the grades handed out by these “experts.” Not one of the draftees have played a down, yet teams are graded. It’s kind of like college recruiting classes. Talk to me when these combine stats are real. 40 yard dash by players in full gear. Vertical jump by players in full gear. So on and so forth.
If these experts were half as smart as they think they are they would be actually runningg a team’s draft. Having said that, I have to confess to actually enjoying reading the mocks. It gives me time to learn about the players coming to the NFL. I have marvelled at the amount of information on each player, and the thought that personnel evaluators on each team know everything that we read on these mocks, plus things that we are not privy to.
For most of the last 30 years the Royals played lousy baseball (if in fact what they were playing could be called baseball……) so those of us in Kansas City made a big deal out of the draft hype. Last year and this year, not so much.
