I don’t think Ernesto is a figment–seems to me that Petey wouldn’t think of the Fountain of Age on his own!

I notice Ernesto’s delusions are far more sophisticated than Petey’s.
Also notice that Ernesto’s dashing curl is far more like Eno’s (The Duplex) than Clark Kent.
