At Wrigley Field, if the ball gets lost in the outfield ivy it’s ruled a double. Don’t know if that would translate to turtles as well, but if Curls was already in scoring position, his run would have been conceded but Peter would have to hold at 2nd.
Sheik: Are we witnessing the historical antecedent for Gamera, maybe? The Japanese are big baseball fans, so maybe there’s an observer from prehistoric Nippon in the bleachers…
frizoid: Good point, Japanese monster films do seem to have some real life basis, i.e., normal creatures made much larger by radiation. When I was in Japan, I was amazed at how many live baseball games were on TV; apparently, the games are all sold out. Not only that, but many of the kids and teenagers were wearing baseball shirts, some of them from US teams.
