Introducing: Marcie!

No folks, that is Clara, the proto-Marci. Marci will not be introduced until 1971, Clara, Shirley, and Sophie were introduced in 1968. Clara looks like a shorter Marci (hence why she’s the proto-Marci) but the key difference between her and Marci is you can see Clara’s eyes.

Some people wear glasses.

Girl 2 looks like a dude!

Trying to make out the captions on the shirts…the name of the camp is “Camp Kamp?”

Proto-Marcie. Different name, and she doesn’t call Peppermint Patty “Sir.”

I would be called, “Wants To Go Home”.

The debut of Marcy!

Marcie was in the same class as Peppermint Patty (but of course Peppermint Patty, with all of her “D minuses” might’ve been held a grade or two back……..) Considering how much the characters changed over time, you could call the early versions of Charlie Brown, Schroeder, Lucy, Linus, and Snoopy “proto-all-the-above”!

I guess they’re not Eeny, Meeny, Miny, or Mo…

I heard that Peppermint Patty has a cousin named “Spearmint Sally”

That would actually be awesome.
