Mrs. Olsen: Any questions? Caulfield: Which is better? Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On"? Or George Booth's "What in Hell is Happening?" Frazz: What's happening? Caulfield: Mrs. Olsen thinks Marvin Gaye was a columnist, George Booth is a rapper, and I'm the biggest problem she has.

I swear Mrs. Olsen occasionally asks that question just to see what Caufield has come up with that day.

Ah, Ol’ George… I have an autographed book of his cartoons.I have no idea where it is, but I’m sure that when I’m gone, some dim relative will find it and put into the Goodwill box.

I think “Compared to What” by Les McCann & Eddie Harris is better than either of Caulfield’s two picks!

Used to be third graders couldn’t get away with saying “hell” in the classroom. (Nor could the teacher.)

Re: use of the word, “hell”. I teach my homeroom students to play the card game, “Oh Hell.” I say to them, "I am going to teach you “Oh Hell” but I can’t use the word, “hell” so I’m going to call the game, “Oh Pshaw” so don’t tell people I said the word, “hell.”
Then again, when I take my students to the local hydroelectric plant, I tell them, “This is the best dam field trip!”
I haven’t been fired yet, but they keep trying.
