Latter-day Saints don’t use a collection plate… they use envelopes with fill-out slips.
A lot of churches use envelopes but they parishioners put the filled envelopes in the plate.
Traditionally, donations in China are sealed in red envelopes. Often, multiple red envelopes are used for a donation from a single donor.
