All of Calkins early spaceships owe a nod to Ms. Jennett’s green flying machine. The lovely and crystal clear lettering make the comic a breeze to read. But most importantly, there is a genuine feeling of movemeny so many early strips lacked

The flying machine is of a fairly standard issue. There were plenty of them in all print media for an artist to choose.

Great seeing a cartoon by a woman! I’ve been frustrated there are so few woman cartoonists.
