Wastrel: Yo, commodore, would ya loan me twenty bucks till Tuesday?
Mr. Veeblefester: No.
Wastrel: A man with money who won't help a friend in need could lose that friend!
Mr. Veeblefester: A man with money does not need a friend in need!
“A friend in need is a friend indeed” tells us that if a person is your friend when you are in need, that person is a true friend. Anyone who would shun a friend merely because that friend has fallen on hard times is no friend at all!.If you would deny help to a needy person when you are able to provide the help, keep in mind that “what you sow, so shall you reap” and that “many have entertained angels unknowingly.” I would rather stand before God defending “stupid” acts of generosity than defending “smart” acts of stinginess.
